•Corvallis Rental Equipment will charge a Cleaning Fee of $7.50 minimum to $50.00 per hour if returned dirty.
•All equipment will have a minimum rental. The minimum will vary depending on equipment.
•Towing Requirements vary depending on equipment.
To Our Valued Customers,
We here at Corvallis Rental Equipment would like to inform you of some changes regarding the rental industry in Oregon. In 2018 the 79th Oregon Legislative Assembly passed House Bill 4139, and was signed into law by the Governor the same year. House Bill 4139 changed the way the rental industry in Oregon is taxed and created a new "Heavy Equipment Rental Tax" abbreviated H.E.R.T. House Bill 4139 applies the tax to "Qualified heavy equipment" at a rate of 2% on the rental price.
From the House Bill 4139, Section 1, Paragraph 6:
"Qualified heavy equipment" means any construction, mining, earthmoving or industrial equipment, together with attachments and other equipment and tools, including, but not limited to, towable trailers and fixed load vehicles, that is:
(a) Mobile;
(b) Owned by a qualified heavy equipment provider; and
(c) Held primarily for rental.
From House Bill 4139, Section 1, Paragraph 10:
"Rental price" means the rental charge for qualified heavy equipment, net of any invoice credits provided to the renter. "Rental price" does not include delivery and pickup fees, damage waivers or environmental mitigation fees.
From House Bill 4139, Section 2, Paragraph 1 & 2:
(1) A tax of two percent is imposed on the rental price received for any qualified heavy equipment.
(2) The tax imposed under this section shall be collected by the qualified heavy equipment provider from the renter at the time that the rental of the qualified heavy equipment is made.
It is of our understanding that this tax will apply to essentially everything we rent from our dozer and excavators to garden tillers and shovels and extension cords. Starting January 1st, 2020, all rental contracts will now include a 'H.E.R.T.' tax line at 2%.

Customers may reserve equipment for "At store pickup" or "For delivery" the same day or in advance. Reservation made for delivery are preferred in advance.
An "At store pickup" reservation will be held for 30 minutes from time reserved. After which, if no contact has been made to modify such reservation time, Corvallis Rental Equipment will be free to release equipment from reservation.
Reservations hold equipment for rental, they are not appointments of service.
Reservations for Scaffolding will not be made except when delivered.
Reservations are done as a courtesy not a guarantee of equipment, However All employees at Corvallis Rental Equipment work exceedingly hard to satisfy that reservations are meet.
Corvallis Rental Equipment reserves the right to charge a Reservation Cancellation Fee. Such fee will be exercised at discretion of manager on duty.
Example 1: Delivery address is 4 miles from store (one direction); Customer will be charged minimum of $70.00 round trip.
Example 2: Delivery address is 7.5 miles from store (one direction); Customer will be charged $105.00 round trip.
~ ( 7.5 miles delivery x $7 = $52.50) + ( 7.5 miles pickup x $7 = $52.50) = $105.00 round trip.
Example 1: Delivery address is 8 miles from store (one direction); Customer will be charged $140.00 minimum round trip.
Example 2: Delivery address is 25 miles from store (one direction); Customer will be charged $350.00 round trip.
~ (25 miles delivery x $7 = $175.00) + (25 miles pickup x $7 = $175.00) = $350.00 round trip.
